Slight Chance Jorge Could be Back Tuesday

From Mark Feinsand:

MINNEAPOLIS - Jorge Posada could be back in pinstripes by Tuesday, as the catcher will undergo his biggest test to date on his injured right shoulder Saturday in Tampa.

Joe Girardi said Posada would take Sunday off, then play another game behind the plate on Monday. Assuming he has no setbacks, Posada and the Yankees will evaluate the situation after Monday's game, deciding whether he needs to catch back-to-back games before returning.

Girardi said he didn't expect to have Posada back for Tuesday's game - which happens to be Joba Chamberlain's first start - but the manager didn't rule out the possibility, either.

"I'm not planning on that, but it's not 100% sure," Girardi said. "I'm sure he'll call me Monday night. He's getting pretty close."

The Yanks will also keep three catchers on the roster for a while to ease Posada into playing everyday again, he will also see some time at DH.

UPDATE 2:45 PM: Posada told the AP that he will have "a day off (Sunday) and play again Monday. We'll see how it feels Monday. Probably another game Tuesday. Get back Wednesday or Thursday."

So I guess now we're looking at Wednesday. The chances for Tuesday were always slim anyway.
